We recommend that you begin taking the practice exams in their untimed mode, to familiarize yourself with their format.  This will help to solidify your knowledge and understanding of the material prior to developing your speed and proficiency.  You achieve maximum proficiency when you’re consistently scoring in the mid-to-high 90’s on the timed exam versions.

Please don’t feel defeated if you don’t perform well in the beginning.  Should that happen, it only means that you have more material to learn.  It’s better to realize that now and not when you’re sitting for the actual exam, right?  Once you learn all that you need to know, you’ll be knocking these practice exams right out of the park, with the NMLS exam not far behind!

 

One important “do” and two important “do nots”!

• DO study the explanation to understand why the answer to any incorrectly-answered question was wrong.
• DO NOT simply memorize the questions and their answers.  Understanding is the key.
• DO NOT use practice exams as your sole and primary means for preparing for the NMLS exam.  Although we are absolutely certain that, through proper use, our practice exams will unquestionably improve your chances of passing the NMLS exam, practice exams should only be used as a supplement to standard study practices.
